Christmas is a time when people are on vacation, in pleasant spirits and generally happier. This reflects on their faces and on their homes, which in turn present wonderful photo opportunities for the enthusiast. Here are a few pointers to help you get the most out of your Christmas images:

    1. Be Prepared – They say well begun is half done, and how true this holds with photography! Plan your photographs ahead of time by packing the right gear, especially if you are traveling. Carry at least one additional memory card, batteries and whatever else it is that helps you shoot.

    2. Get the White Balance Right – Christmas is usually accompanied with a lot of lights of varying colors, sometimes flickering. If you do not want a color cast on your images, experiment with white balance settings. Alternatively, shoot on RAW format and do the color correction later.

Most of us have at some point or the other tried photographing out of a plane window. While some may have been successful at making acceptable images, many are left wondering where they went wrong. We’ve put together a few tips to help you with this.

    1. Use Manual Focus – When shooting through a plane window, remember that the window glass stands between your camera and your subject. AF systems can get ‘confused’ and focus on the glass instead of the outside. To avoid this, do switch to manual focus if your camera allows it. Most photo enthusiasts own DSLRs so this shouldn’t be a problem.

    2. Shoot as Early as Possible – Flying at high altitudes results in condensation forming on the glass windows of a plane. While this can pose as an interesting subject you may wish to photograph as well, do try and get your regular images as soon as possible. Also, shortly after take-off, a plane usually banks to get its bearings on course. This in turn can present some unusual angles to photograph. The condensation may reduce during final approach when the aircraft is flying low, but you don’t want to have a camera in your hands on touchdown!

As most designers would already know, the design of a site consists of three basic categoric divisions of thought processes. These include the site header, the site content and the site footer. You cannot over look anyone one of these three when making a fresh design. Let us keep this in mind when we go ahead and think of creating any one of those sub aspects of site design, including site footers.

Unfortunate as it may seem, many designers think of footer design as a low priority objective. During the earlier times of the Internet, the footer was little more than simply a line of text bearing criteria such as the copyrights, legal notices or the means to navigate to a little area on the site. That little area we speak of could possibly (and not necessarily) lead to an area of more information such as navigational information, creator comments, recent postings, further copyright details and such. Read on to know more of three pointers you could keep in mind when designing footers.
